Through out history music has been a source of entertainment as well as a form of praise & worship to our Heavenly Father. Whether a TV commercial jingle, a R&B love song or a tear jerking gospel song, music has been a significantly intricate part of our lives. The Book of Genesis 9:20-25 states that David danced so hard that he came out of his clothes. Praising our God. Did you know the relevance of music is such that there are 61 bible verses on it, dancing and singing praises to our Lord? Music to which we are thanking the LORD, rejoicing in the LORD, loving the LORD, seeking freedom to Praise the LORD, asking our LORD for Forgiveness and mourning our losses with the LORD. Zephaniah 3:17 The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing. Psalm 33:2; Give thanks to the LORD with the lyre; Sing praises to Him with a harp of ten strings. Proverbs 29:6; By transgression an evil man is ensnared, But the righteous sings and rejoices; Job 30:31; “Therefore my harp is turned to mourning, And my flute to the sound of those who weep”, are just a few.
Stevie Wonder released an album in 1970, called Signed, Sealed & Delivered. The single “Signed Sealed Delivered I’m Yours.” It was the first soul single written by Mr. Wonder, six weeks at number one on the U.S. R&B chart and number three on the U.S. Pop chart. The first SOUL single … “SIGNED SEALED DELIVERED I’M YOURS”. I actually heard this song while driving to work just this week. The words are “Like a fool I went and stayed too long; Now I’m wondering if your love’s still strong; Ooo Baby Here I am; Signed Sealed Delivered I’m Yours.” When you are in a praise mindset you tend to change the words to these type of songs. Don’t act like y’all don’t know what I’m talking about. You in your car just you and the good Lord and you start singing, “Like a fool I strayed away too long; Now I’m wondering if your Love’s still strong; Ooo JESUS here I am signed sealed delivered I’m yours. Ooo Jesus…There ain’t nobody I’d rather sing a love song about or to than Jesus.
We are born listening to the music, grow up with music, party to the music, raised families while listening to music and we most definitely praise the LORD through music. So when we stay away too long then began to wonder if God still loves us just remember that everyday we all write a new chapter of deeds. Deeds that are signed, sealed and delivered. Signed by our actions, Sealed with the Holy Spirit and Delivered by Jesus. So let’s perform our Deeds in such a righteous way that when we look upon God’s Glory we can say LORD I’M YOURS. With that being said God’s Will be done.
